• Metal is a thicker material, shows up as white(r/ ist) on an x-ray.
• Bone is thicker than soft tissue and shows up as white or light grey on an x-ray
• Soft tissue is of medium thickness and shows up as light grey on an x-ray
• Fat can be of medium thickness and shows up as dark grey on an x-ray
• Air shows up as black on an x-ray
