The right answer is cleansing with soap and water.

There is no evidence that cleansing with antiseptic or antimicrobial solutions makes any difference to infection rates in long-term urinary catheterisation (Pratt et al, 2007). It has also been suggested that vigorous washing can increase bacterial colonisation and routine daily bathing or showering is recommended (NICE, 2012).
