Corticobulbar pathway > bundles to cranial nerver motor nuclei

Cortico-bulbar pathway: bundles to cranial nerve motor nuclei

This diagram illustrates the main features of the corticobulbar pathway from the cortex to the different brainstem motor nuclei, as viewed from behind. Note that the different nuclei are supplied by a sequence of cortical neurons arranged in series reflecting the regions of the head supplied. Note also that the part of the facial motor nucleus (the part serving muscles above the eyes) is supplied bilaterally.
