Introduction
Alan Smith is a 69 year old man who works as a Painter and decorator.
He has had urinary problems over last 6 months which are now worse so he decided to visit his GP. The GP has done some blood tests and referred him urgently to A+E, where you see him 2 days later.
His results from the GP are:
- Sodium 138 mmol/L
- Potassium 5.9 mmol/L
- Urea is 18.4 mmol/L
- Creatinine 358 µmol/L (previous Cr 1 year ago = 88)
