Unit 4: Refractive Error

Short sightedness is termed myopia. This occurs when a distant target is focussed in front of the retina.

'Near Sighted'

A 'near' object is focussed on the retina, but light rays from distant objects are focussed in front of the retina. Patients can therefore see well for near, but not for distance.
