Risks

  • Complications occur in a small minority: rupture of the posterior lens capsule is an important complication
  • Serious complications are rare, approximately 1 in 500:
    • Endophthalmitis (severe intraocular infection)
    • Suprachoroidal haemorrhage (severe intraocular haemorrhage)
